This was the worst camp I have ever been to. The first day was a creepy ceremony and there are "holy" grounds you can not go on. Then there is a councelor named bubbles and they will not tell you their real names. She was evil and tried to seperate me and my cousin who was told to stay with me for family support. The camp does not allow you to do anything independently. The food was decent and there are gunshots heard at night. It took them 3 days into the camp to tell us this. The only good thing I remember from this creepy, spiritual to the extreme camp was zip lining. On the last day we had another creepy ceremony and on the way up people sat in candle lit lights beating a drum. This was called the green feather ceremony. I would not recommend it and do not understand what people liked about this hell. Also I wrote two letters to my parents on Tuesday and was told that they would arrive by Friday or Thursday. When I got home the letter had still not arrived and got there the next week saying the camp sent it on Saturday, the day of my departure.
We recently attended a Spaghetti Meet & Greet type of dinner for Summer Camp 2017. The staff we met was amazing. Everyone was so happy and friendly and was more than happy to answer every question we tossed their way. There are so many activities for the kids, I know my oldest (6 year old) is very excited to start summer camp (it's only March). I'm excited for him to go here.
I LOVE IT BUT SOME GIRLS ARE ANNOYING I LOVE HOLLY TOMSON AND SHE WAS THE BEST COUNSELOR EVER. DANCES ARE GREAT. FOOD IS GREAT. BUT, HOWEVER THEY SHOULD LET US SLEEP IN.
A great camping experience for you, your family and friends. My family has spent many weeks and weekends at Ocky and Matolly over the years. The visits where always great. My Mom went in the 30's, I went in the 60's and my kids went in the 80's and took their families in 2000's. Every body should have a chance to enjoy it!!
Our daughter had a superb sleep away camp experience at Camp Mattolly. She's already asking about spending a two-week period there next summer. The camp seems very well run (and charmingly rustic - in the best sense of the word!), and all of the counselors we met were fun, professional, and enthusiastic about ensuring a positive experience. Thanks Camp Mattolly!
